Knock on wood
Phone problems appear fixed. It had seemed potentially permanent, but now I'm thinking (from what I did that got it working again) that the battery was merely loose.

I had that problem with my first phone... and eventually it led me to replace it with one that keeps the battery on the inside, not on the back on the outside.
